General Ledger Accountant
About this job:
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant that has a great positive attitude, highly motivated to learn and grow within the organization. This person will be a valuable member of the Accounting team, to assist in all accounting aspects of preparing a full set of financial statements, including preparation of the general ledger entries, reconciliations and analysis. This person will report to the Controller and responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Immediate focus will be to assisting Controller in ERP conversion and testing
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close
- Audit General Ledger for various errors
- Assist in month-end and year-end close
- Assist in Financial Statements preparation
- Prepare schedules for cash flow, fixed assets, prepaids, various other schedules when needed
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze account activities, investigate, and resolve necessary items
- Preparation of journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
- Maintain internal financial controls and procedures, including developing and/or updating procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules
- Assist and support the administrative tasks in Company's financial systems reimbursement
- Other assignments as necessary to assist in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and customer service
- Create and revise written step by step procedures for all task that are performed by General Ledger Accountant
- Special projects as needed and assigned
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3+ years of general ledger experience required
- Experience with major ERP system required
- Intermediate Excel skills are required
- Effective problem solving, methodical, detail-oriented, innovative, and highly analytical.
- A multi-tasker with the ability to accurately work in a fast paced, rapidly growing environment
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Self-starter - able to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional teams environment
- Willingness to streamline processes and adapt to changes
- Excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills

- Knowledge of the complete accounting cycle of manufacturing cost
- Knowledge of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Critical analytical thinking
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities

- Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach toward assignments and actively engage others in building teams
- Knowledge of complex financial metrics, accounting principles and processes
- Ability to structure and analyze complex financial reports
- Ability to calculate standard financial ratios (current, liquidity, turnover, etc.)
- Ability to think critically and analytically in linking financial data to qualitative information
- Ability to communicate sensitive information to principals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software - Intermediate Excel, Intermediate Word, Intermediate Outlook skills
